Over the past few years we have spent about 6 weeks in Florence in the summer. We absolutely love it there and can assure you of two things to expect in Florence in the summer: it will be hot and crowded. Actually make that: very hot and very crowded. Both times that we visited for a few weeks I planned an overnight somewhere with a pool so we could cool down and enjoy some swimming. This time I think we found the perfect Florence rental with a pool and here’s why..
Florence Rental with a Pool
Typically to get a rental with a pool you have to head out of the city and into Tuscany, which we have done and it’s lovely but not easy to get to without renting a car. You can also find a hotel or 2 with a pool in Florence but because they’re few and far between you’ll find them very crowded. That’s why I was so excited to find this Kid & Coe rental IN Florence: Via Baccio Bandinelli Residence
Kid & Coe Promo Code: Use code Courtney250 for $250 this rental or any Kid & Coe rental you book before the end of the year.
We had the best time at Via Baccio Bandinelli and even made new friends. It was the perfect “city break” while still being in the city. When we head back to Florence, I will 100% stay here again. It’s also really awesome to have all the perks of a vacation rental while still having staff on hand to help you if needed. Here’s why I would highly recommend this Florence vacation rental:
The Pool: The pool area at Via Baccio Bandinelli is incredible. You would never imagine it could be behind all the old city buildings. You feel like you are miles and miles from a city. The pool is in a lovely garden area that has spots to sit and relax, sunbeds, hammocks & a big grass lawn to run and play. The rental provides big comfy pool towels too. Even though check in is late afternoon and check out in the morning, we were allowed to swim all day both the day of check in and check out.
The Breakfast: Breakfast is included with your stay at Via Baccio Bandinelli which is a huge perk. Breakfast is in a cozy dining room right off the garden area where the pool is. The breakfast was delicious and they even made tea pots of hot chocolate for the kids. I can say it was hands down our best breakfast in Florence.
The Poolside Bar: You know what makes a pool even better? A poolside bar! Via Baccio Bandinelli has the cutest little poolside bar. It’s only open in the late afternoon but you can get a glass of wine, a Spritz, etc and really feel like you’re on vacation.
The Rental Setup: I couldn’t believe how big the vacation rental was when we arrived. Via Baccio Bandinelli is a 1 bedroom, 1 bath rental and comfortably fit our family (it was me and the kids). It’s spread across 3 floors. You enter into a big foyer with a couch. This was where we could keep all of our pool stuff, stroller, etc and the kids could sit down there to read and play to spread out.
The main floor had floor to ceiling windows that made it feel like a huge space. There was a pull out couch that 3 kids slept on, a kitchen and the cutest little balcony. Then upstairs was the 1 (huge) bathroom, big closet and bedroom. The bedroom had a queen bed and plenty of space for the pack n play (that they provided).
The Bikes: A cool perk about staying at Via Baccio Bandinelli is there are bike racks with bikes to borrow at no charge. You can use them to get around or just for a fun ride along the Arno.
The Location & Views: Via Baccio Bandinelli is located right across the Arno from Casine Park. You have views of the park AND you can see the prettiest view of the Duomo from your living room. You are still in the city of Florence and could walk to the city center if you wanted to or take a bike ride or quick cab ride. There is so much to see in Florence and it will forever be my favorite city.
The Community: You are in your own rental unit at Via Baccio Bandinelli but the pool area and breakfast room are a common space for a few rentals. There were 4 other families there when we stayed over night. Sharing the pool area with 4 other families made the stay extra nice because we made friends from 4 other countries. One of the reasons I love to travel with my kids is for them to meet kids from other places around the world. 5 families from 5 very different places all loving a pool to cool down in during the hot August days in Italy.
Staying in a place like this Kid & Coe is the perfect place to meet and create a nice little community for a couple of days. The night we were there a really bad storm came through overnight and at breakfast we all checked in on each other, shared our stories from the storm, etc. My kids have fond memories of our time at Via Baccio Bandinelli, not just for the pool but for the company, which is really neat.
Via Baccio Bandinelli is a Kid & Coe rental. We love Kid & Coe and it’s always the first spot I look for a vacation rental. They’re the most kid-friendly spots with the best hosts. Here’s a great one we stayed at in Venice and another one we loved in Ireland. Have questions? Reach out! I love to chat travel.
